This is another journal book that I bind.

I named it ' Sew Fun' as the illustration on cover page.
It is made off from Japanese Cotton Fabric.

Creative Revolution

I was so grateful to have 2 free hours of (my own) time on Friday.

I explore the possibilities / ways to use my own hand-bound book , which can be open flat.



Since I have only 2 hours. I worked on Diana Trout' s Creative Revolution which each prompt may take 10-20 minutes. She is inspiring teacher.


So, start with Nudge 1 : Take a handful paper / fabric scraps, glue them down on journal.


Nudge 2 & 3 : I don't have printer. So will worked it out in next few days.


Nudge 4 : Lettering . Used broad marker to bold the letters.

(Place where I worked, the bird chirping , warm sun. I used to dream what I gonna do if I quit my job)


Nudge 5 : Split the page into 7 segments. One for each day of the week.
The journal book can be served as your customize diary book for year 2011.

So many things happen this week,
I didn't update my blog as I was ill (period cramp so seriously)
and
the sad part, we loss our beloved brother-in-law who suffered cancer . He was 35 years old.


Nudge 6 : 5 minutes collage.
When I flip thought the old pile of magazine and found this "Never stop learning while enjoying the best of life" speak to me.

Crusade 45 : A New Page 5

I've taken up the challenge posted by Michele Ward in her GPP Street Team.

This month challenge , 'Back to Back', is to take a few color copies of a painted background and try finishing it several ways. Or take a page that has some kind of foundation on it already.

So, I going to re-make this page which I feel the background is not interesting at all.
The page is to response to Autumn's A New Page ~ Prompt 5 ~ Battle Plan / Repair . Autumn mentioned that this spread is dedicated to repairing those broken places or taking action against a problem. What ways can you find to repair or solve this problem?

Hearthandmade said...id go crazy in my art journal... possibly as a collage/patchwork background with a paint wash. Or i could do a similar thing on canvas and draw over the wash!

Lately, I'm not only explore the glorious way to bind a book .

Never Grow Up

Autumn encouraged us to think of our self as a child and just scribe away our thoughts on childhood and growing up.

What did it mean to you then, and how do you see it now?

map obsession

I often take a day out (alone), may be once in a few months

with camera, journal book, hat (people thought that I'm Japanese), and a 'curiosity' heart.

just to sneak around the place , the street where I found interest in.

I really wish to transform my path to a MAP form (like the above).

As Map make me crazy, like another interest of mine captured in another blog.

Pudu is one of the significant historical places.

According to historians, the Pudu village has existed since around 120 years ago mostly occupied by early Chinese settlers who were involved in the tin mining industry and other small local trades.

It was mainly a Chinese community from the very start, even until now, the area is largely populated by Chinese community with an increasing number of foreign workers.

There is a project carried out by the community Pudu. It's called Pudu Community Art Project
An art project based in Pudu community organized by Lost Generation Arts Space.

This community art project is initiated as an attempt to rediscover the significant cultural value of Pudu via a series of community-based arts and culture programs in the hope of engaging the locals in building the groundwork for communal bonding, with the ultimate aim of revitalizing the community.

From the map, I can see the burning heart of the passionate young people in Pudu.

Paper Art : Lotus Flower Book

What I had busy at last weekend in played with those papers

Folding those papers, calming my mind

Lotus flowers are amazing and have strong symbolic ties to many Asian religions especially throughout India.

The lotus flower starts as a small flower down at the bottom of a pond in the mud and muck.

It slowly grows up towards the waters surface continually moving towards the light.

Once it come to the surface of the water the lotus flower begins to blossom and turn into a beautiful flower.
