Braving the Elements (GPP No. 36)

New Start for year 2010

A new funstatic challenge posted by Michelle Ward on her GPP Street Team.

Paper cutting
I used the receipt print and magazine paper.
(After experiment with acrylic spray, the stencil cut out from magazine paper turned out awesome)

5 - 8 minutes for each (big one) cut out.
This process carried out in the first day.

I used several ink.
This process took about 10-15 minutes in the second day.

Later,

{ O U T D OO R }

Bought some Acrylic Spray and Color Wash of Adirondack last year, which I turned them into good used this year.

The process taken about 15 minutes.












The colourful cut out will be keep for next used.

Random : shop...shop...shop

a.e.i.o.u printed the old time tags as the gift wrapping paper.

I was so much happy when I found this kind of wrapping paper in little store in Penang Mall.

I bought this wrapping paper too.

The old time stuff (during my young time) are looked so familiar for me.

I just realise that was a fabric craft shop in Queensbay Mall, Penang.

Wish I have more time time, to take some class with them.

Bought this lovely and expensive fabric which imported from Japan.

Some laces and cotton thread.

What I can do with them... bag, fabric journal, doll.....

Changing Phases

Last year, I have attended some online class which I identified my dreams, what I want to do next.
So for this New Year I will pursue my dream and set it as my goal for this year.


The butterfly symbolize the transformation ~ from cocoon to butterfly, just like to turn my dream into reality.

You must brave to explore and you will discover the truth.

The divination script that I gotten from one of the Kuan Yin Temple in Kuala Lumpur.

自小住在富貴家，眼前萬物總奢華。

蒙君賜紫金角帶，四海聲名定可誇。

Divination text：Was brought home to live in wealth, the immediate things a total luxury.
The Emperor gift the diagonal band, universal reputation can certainly boast.

However, the text cannot be interpret by reading the surface meaning. The meaning of the script depends on the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of a standardized process or ritual.

True North Art Calendars for Year 2010

Kathryn Antyr so kind to giveaway the pdf.files here.

Print them 2 pages in 1 A4 size paper. Cut it and also another transparency sheet for the cover. Punch hole and tie with ribbons. I used Artline Multi Pen to write on the transparency.

The calendar will be used as the monthly plan.

Random post : Journal and camera

I shot the newly sewn-fabric-covered journal with my new Canon camera.
I just bought it.
Just realise , I can't live without the camera :p

This is my old camera which accompany me for 2 years plus.
Will send back to factory for repair.

Mala Beads

Material used : Polymer Clay ( Sculpey, Premol, Granitex )
Tools : Waxed paper (work surface) , rubber stamp, bamboo skewer (put the holes), oven

The clay must be conditioned by kneading it in your hands until it soft and flexible.

Can you see that is some black stain on the beads which I had over-burn it :p
(*suggested 130 degree celcius for 10-15 mins - depends on the size of the beads)

The colour of brownish-square piece was formed during over-baking.
And the left piece , that's the bad example... totally burnt. But touching up with silver acrylic paint.

Part of the beads will be send to Kathryn Antyr. As I joined her in Friendship Mala Bead Swap. Each participant will send in 30 beads and receive 27 beads from around the world to make a friendship mala (prayer bracelet).
