Sneak Peek on class material

In one of the session, Metal Conservation ,we are learned how to remove the rust from the metal. In fact in mixed media/altered art, we love those rusty things !!!!

The material used to identified the type of textile weaving and fibre identification (cotton, silk, velvet, felt, wool and polyester)

We'll bring our children to attend a craft play this afternoon.

Workshop : Little peek on class material

I've attended a 2-days-workshop in Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM), Kuala Lumpur.
IAMM with its technologically advance and scientifically equipped Conservation Centre (for paper, ceramic, textile and metal) since year 2003.


This is our class.

And the material supplied that we had on the table for the section 1 ~ Introduction to Book Binding Technique.

So excited to have the book binding class (I'll share a little bit more in the next post).

And for the afternoon section ......

The material used for Restoration on Ceramic Objects

Seems like we was in the laboratory...

And a secret bundle is given to every 'student'

Street Art ~ Graffiti

Graffiti is one form of the street art.

Scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property.

The below photos was taken in year 2009 in one of car park at Jalan Hishamuddin.

And just notice that the wall been re-painted, all the graffiti image was now breath under the paint. .

Graffiti that incorporated the Malaysian tropical colours and traditional culture .

There are more and more graffiti here.

The Meetup

Goals that I set for myself (mostly extracted from the 101.1001 list) after 'graduated' from the Indie Biz 2.0.

Liz from Athena Dreams Design have a group called 'The Meetup" which is made up of entrepreneurs • artists • new business owners that gather {electronically} at the beginning of each month to post our goals, our hopes and our dreams for our businesses. The philosophy behind this gathering is that by putting our goals out there for others to see helps keep us accountable, and on our path. Additionally, getting some feedback from the others in the group and some needed "you can do its" can help to push us forward and get the things done that we know we need to do. Yes. Sometimes , I do need positive momentum.

Goal for April
1) Create the blog banner / header (done)
2) Learn & Create blog widget (plan to do more)
3) Brainstorm some ideas for etsy store
4) Editing pictures
5) Sidebar labels and links
6) Blog at rate 1 post per day
7) Make & bind 3 mini books (for swap)

Blog Makeover

Recently, have you noticed that i have done some blog makeover the MESCRAP STUDIO .

The layout of the blog change from 2 column to 3 columns.

Make my own header / banner which I reluctant to do it sometimes ago.

In subsequent, I add in the blog widget feature .. YES !!!

and also I plan to improve the sidebars...the labels, links and etc.

GPP Crusade No.39 ~ Pulling Print

This month, Michelle Ward of GPP Crusade have a new play for the crusader ~~ the Pulling Print.

Supposed to use the glass or Tyvek.
However, I used glossy magazine cover.

I used ink and spray with lots of water.

I've been signed up for 2 days workshop with IAMM , i.e 21 & 22 Apr' 2010.
The workshop is about learning on conservation of paper, textile, ceramic and metal.
What attract me about the workshop is the Book Binding Technique, the first session.
Can't wait to attend the class.

It's gonna be a great exposure for me not only in art but new learning on indie business.

WIP : Knock Knock ...."Anybody Home ??"

I've used chinese-kind-of-calendar as the journal paper.
However, it's too thin.
Thus, I added a layer of brown paper in the middle to strengthen the page.

Cut and glue the ephemeras

Let the page dry. I shall continue with some acrylic paint then.
