I've made this mini book early in month 12 last year.

Being enthusiasm, overwhelm and prepared to face the new challenge in the new year ~ 2012.

The trapezoid shape alpha was bought in Korea.

Good used it for pages instead keep them dusty in drawer.

I subscribe to Marelisa's Abundance Blog for the new year.

She posted 82 Ways to Make 2012 a Great Year !!

I had answer some of the thought in this mini.

Like last year, i make a paperbag book (the red one) for collecting bit and bits of evidence for the Christmas.

For this year, I thought to continue with this little project of mine.

Again..the beautiful paper-bag was come with purchase from Isetan, can't resist.

And for sure for not to forget a lovely package send from TJ of Studiomailbox last year.

I love to put the pieces from Germany in this little book.

I quit from my previous company and join the current one.

All happen in this 2 months.

This month is tough for me as i need to pick up at least some knowledge to equip for next new year.

However, I'm feeling grateful and enjoy the learning process and also been surrounded by good & nice people.

This month , November is the month 12 of the mini book project.

I was inspired by Leah Piken Kolidas in her Creative Everyday. Instead of doing art everyday which a bit pressure for me. So, I started the project as a challenge for myself to create art + journaling every month.

Wake up at 4am one of the morning
May be have too much sleep on the day before

However, I didn't really concentrate on the painting
as the music and internet surfing was taken at the same time.

"Hmm...not what i want.."

Layered acyrlic paint apply on top of each until satisfied

slowing your pace and allowing time for your thoughts to run

their course before taking action on anything.

Happy are those who dream dreams

and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.

My computer was so so so slow as it was overloaded with hundred tons of pictures

cumulative throughout the years.

It's was time to do spring cleaning on the harddisk.

At least now, I can retrieve my mini book photos and uploaded it.

十月 means month number ten, October

This month ,

I keep my long hair since my first deliver of my daughter in year 2005

It was kept to waist length for 5 years

But one day, just happens this month, feeling bored with the hair style

visited saloon and reduce it to shoulder length....

But still not satisfied,

2 weeks later , cut and trims again.

I feel myself 'lighter' after this cut :)

Bought this 2 Ammo Cans in local Saturday Flea Market.

Due to their durable construction, used metal ammunition boxes are popularly re-used for general storage and other purposes.

An ammunition box is a container designed for safe transport and storage of ammunition. Countless uses include safe transportation of shotgun and rifle shells, tools, perishables, and any hunting camp. Some enthusiasts and investors collect historical ammunition boxes. Ammo Cans are also known as military surplus ammunition containers, army navy bullets, government issued magazine boxes, weaponry canisters replicas, vintage metal bullet shells carrier.

A rubber gasket is commonly found in the hinged lid to protect the ammunition from moisture damage.

Chinese Herbs Shelves found in Cheng Ho museum, Malacca.

The Chinese scripts are the herbs name.

Found these vintage old medicine shelves in Malaqa House , one of the Antique shop of Jonker Street.

I'm looking for one of this , wish me luck to get a affordable one.

And the gorgeous Display Shelves in a Boutique Hotel, Malacca.

The shelves should be belongs to a rich Baba Nyonya family.

This week i'm like a busy bee

i was live in a stagnant life in previous years ...not to meant that it's bad things.

but just want to have some spark in life ...probably via this turning point

In conjunction to Hari Raya Puasa * and National Day (31st August), I was taking a long leave of one week

The first and second day of holiday, we went back to Taiping and Ipoh.

The subsequent days of holiday , i was ill.

Too bad.

Today is the day 5 of the holiday.

Hari Rayameans 'Celebration Day'.Is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). On the other hand, I was never bored as the rubber stamps that I ordered from Catslife Press arrived before the holiday !! Hooray. (thanks Patty to share the link on her blog)

Buchon, Korea is one of my favourite spot.

Love the Hanok, traditional korean style guesthouse.

If i have chance to revisit this country, Buchon and Insadong will be on my priority.

Insadong ~ for you and me whom like Handmade.

Went to Dongdaemun to hunt for art supplier like fabric, lace, felt and metals.

Also went to Kimchi Academy to learn on making the kimchi and in return brought home a sealed-pack of kimchi.

The final day took the local bus and explored the market at Incheon.

Travel Journal that I make and brought over to Korea in May'11.

Four of us, mom, sisters and I backpacked to this beautiful land.

Ooh... I miss the food very much, especially the side-dishes serve and also the kimchi pancake.

The page cut out from a local magazine.
There were Sakura blossom season in Apr'11.

We took the shuttle bus arranged by the Korea Tourism Organisation to travel to this Treasure Trove of World Cultural Heritage, Gyeongju.

What coincident was we met the same local bus driver (bus no #11) at each point of pick-up !

I like flipping through every pages as the color 'sob' in each page was intrigue.
Love the effect of the dye colors blending over each others.

My fingers all dyed with colors too .

Sewed all the left out fabric pieces .
Like puzzling back the missing piece

a thin layer of sponge was inserted in between 2 piece of fabric.

put on the key tangles things

All the pages are stitches together using embroidery thread.
A bit tough to align straight as the fabric is too soft.

This is how the dyed-pages turnout.
Love the blending effect .....the colours was 'free flow' all the pages

Tada....my Travelogue Journal had completed.

Can't wait to fill it up with ephemeras.

AJ Week 12 ~ Hand-dye Paper

Outside was hot and dry.
Suitable day for hand-dye some paper for my travelogue journal.

I have several question asking about what I used for dying

I experienced in using

i) acyclic paint or watercolor

ii) tea bag or coffee bag

iii) food colouring

Every medium I worked, the effect turned out differently.

Everytime, the effect turn out very well.

Masking Fun Swap

Last year I have little play on my blog.
We exchanging ephemera (paper) .Read here and here.

This year, thought to have something fun with masking tape.
Use those masking tape/washi tape and makes some postcards / cards.
Not to keep and dust the tape but make fun with it.

Crusade 50 : In case of Emergency

Cool !! This month crusade (#50) follows on previous Forensic Report. I make a mini size folded card, measured 14.5 cm x 8cm (when folded), so that it can fix to the report. Make a zig-zag strip and hold the cards.

I know about iHanna when I met her (of course online) in a postcard swap in year 2010.

The above is my postcards for year 2011 which ready to post by next week.

I used spray, stencils that I cut, acrylic paint, inks, stamps on this long paper (before cut them to size).
